REALMS is excited to screen at the Frye Art Museum in Seattle in conjunction with an exhibit of the works of Henry Darger on October 14th, 2006. Jessica Yu will be attending the screening.

Drawn from the American Folk Art Museum's Henry Darger Collection, this traveling exhibition includes twenty paintings, drawings, and tracings by the artist, source materials-including newspaper clippings, magazines, comic books, cartoons, and coloring books-and Darger's personal documents and other ephemera. One bound volume of the original typewritten manuscript for In the Realms of the Unreal will also be exhibited.

The Pacific Cinematheque in Vancouver is pleased to present a special screening of In the Realms of the Unreal as part of the "Frames of Mind" series.

The monthly event, in association with UBC's Department of Psychiatry, utilizes film and video to promote professional and community education on issues pertaining to mental health and illness.

Jessica Yu's Academy Award winning short, Breathing Lessons: The Life and Work of Mark O'Brien will also be screened in conjunction with the film.

There are two Los Angeles air dates for IN THE REALMS OF THE UNREAL that are a little bit different from the East Coast and Midwest schedules. Turns out that "Realms" on POV will be broadcast on KCET on

Saturday, August 6th at 9pm
Saturday, August 27th at 11pm

Also, check out the website that POV has put together in support of the broadcast. They put a lot of work into showing aspects of Henry Darger's work that we couldn't include in the film. It is really great!

Hear more about the film from Q&As with the filmmakers in Los Angeles!
